• Negative: Decor of rooms. The "Laura Ashley" - type blue flowered drapes and bedspreads, and wicker furniture were ugly and totally out-of-keeping with the decor of the rest of the hotel.

• Positive: The rooftop terrace bar was fantastic. We lived up there in the evening, it was so relaxing and the waiter was a gentleman.

• Location: 7.5 On the busy Gran Via
• Common facilities and services: 10 Rooftop terrace bar was a great bonus in Madrid
• Staff: 10 Breakfast waiter used to work in Ireland and was very friendly. The barman in the terrace bar was an absolute gentleman. All staff were friendly and efficient.
• Quietness: 5 We were on the 6th floor so noise levels were not too bad, but it was still noisy - price for being on the Gran Via
• Room: 10 We had a great view of the Gran Via, mini-bar was well stocked, loved the room
• Value for money: 10 We paid an excellent price for this room, and this hotel proved to be the best value of our entire Spanish trip!

• Common facilities and services: 10 The entrance and front desk area were always impeccable, and the roof top bar and common rooms were absolutely gorgeous!
• Staff: 10 The best staff I've ever encountered. Anywhere!
• Quietness: 7.5 The automatic metal shutters not only filtered out all light, but did an amazing job of filtering out the sounds of a city.
• Room: 10 We stayed in a regular room the first part (it was fine) and then in a superior room the second part of our stay. It was beyond perfect.
• Value for money: 10 Amazing!
