Hotel Axor Feria ****

• I recommend it especially AGAINST... Couples, Luxury, Budget travelers
• Cleanliness: 7.5 Cleaniness in the room and the public areas was good. Bed linen was clean as well.
• Location: 5 Close to MAD airport. Large shopping mall (Plenilunio) in walking distance (10 min). No other restaurants or bars in walking distance.
• Common facilities and services: 5 Stayed in the AXOR Barajas (even though the reservation was for the Feria). Both hotels are close to each other and have a nice lawn in the backyard. Breakfast was OK but no frills. Coffee is served on request only (no self service) which can take quite some time when the breakfast room is fully seated. I did not checkout the bar or the fitness room.
• Staff: 5 Staff friendlyness was OK but nothing special. Upon check-in I had to wait 15 minutes at the Feria (due to other guests checking in) and then it turned out that I was moved to the Barajas - so I had to queue again. Restaurant staff was friendly but not extraordinary polite.
• Quietness: 5 Honestly I had the AC running throughout the complete night and the fan was so noisy that I did not hear anything from outside or inside during the night. I personally can sleep well with a steady background noise. When the fan was turned off, you can hear noise from other rooms pretty loudly.
• Room: 5 I stayed in a standard room with twin beds, a flatscreen TV, minibar and two chairs, there were no other extraordinary amenities. The materials used were modern (black / white / red chair) but only of average quality.
• Value for money: 5 I had the chance to take a look at the rooms of my peers who stayed in the Melia Av. d. Americas and the ones in the Hotel Auditorium. Rooms in these hotels seemed to be a bit larger in size. The renovated rooms in the Auditorium were comparable my room in the AXOR, the unrenovated ones in the Auditorium were pretty outdated. In the Melia you can sit outside on the terrace for breakfast which I find much more enjoyable as the AC room in the AXOR. Overall I'd rank the AXOR als average compared to other hotels in the surrounding.
