• Positive: Location - Proximity to train stations - Ideal. Gare De L'est station 5 minute walk up the street, Gare Du Nord 10 minute walk or one stop on the Metro for those travelling by Eurostar or for catching the train to CDG airport. Housekeeping service - Bed made and clean towels every day. When staying at a previous hotel we had to pay to have extra/change of towels. Helpful staff - offered to arrange transport if we needed it. Luggage hold - Can be stored in an (unsecured) area after checking out at no extra cost so you can come back later to get it. En Suite - Shower was great and wall-mounted hairdryer which I actually ended up using rather than my own.
• Negative: No free wifi - Have to pay for wifi so we we went days without internet access. Decor - The rooms are being renovated only ours wasnt and it was very dated and sheet/blanket as bedding. Key return - Have to hand the key back to reception when leaving the hotel. Our first time in Paris so not sure if this is standard procedure but wasnt entirely comfortable with being left with no key and a room full of luggage. I assumed housekeeping had a copy for every room. Noise - Due to renovation, work on the floor above woke us up early Location - Area - Cannot fault it practicality-wise, as it made getting around Paris and to and from the airport a lot easier, however, we found gangs standing around in the streets outside quite intimidating

• Negative: Customer service and manner of the reception staff on our arrival. Blonde receptionist was very rude and abrupt. Not the best welcome to Paris.
