  • Location: 10 We don't mind the walk down the hill to bars / restaurants. We did an evening trip to the Alahmbra so this hotel was perfect. Also the parking is much cheaper than others.
  • Common facilities and services: 7.5
  • Staff: 10
  • Quietness: 7.5 Up on the hill there you are far removed from the hustle and bustle down below. The majority of guests at Guadalupe are older so rooms are very quiet.
  • Room: 5 Room was fine, very old school in design and finish. Only 1 power point in our room. There was a mini fridge though which was great
  • Value for money: 10 We got a good price for the room we had and really enjoyed staying there.

May/2013 Someone from Utah, USA thinks:

  • Overall rating: 9.9
  • Would you recommend it? Yes
  • Positive: My husband and I stayed at Hotel Guadalupe for one night in May 2013. We quite enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The location of the hotel across the street from the Alhambra can’t be beat. You can easily walk down the hill into the old town and explore as we did (and you should too – the old Cathedral is not to be missed!). What’s fantastic about this hotel is that you can easily and quickly get to your Alhambra reservation first thing in the morning, without first having to walk UP that huge hill as you would if you stayed down in the city. And trust me, the hill is huge. The nice-sized rooms at Hotel Guadalupe are lovely, with nice moldings, wallpaper and art. Even the bed linens are monogrammed. Our room had an extra rollaway bed included and a nice large armoire. The TV was a flat screen and rather small…but why watch TV when you can walk across the street to the magnificent Alhambra? The bathroom was lovely and made of marble. There was both a toilet and a bidet. The tub shower had a glass door and was quite pleasant. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel (although it is offered). We did, however, eat lunch there at the bar after touring the Alhambra. The waiter working the bar was the hardest-working waiter we encountered in all of Europe, and it was a lovely, pleasant lunch. The hotel has free wi-fi, although from our third floor room we could not get the signal adequately. We went down to the lobby to check our emails before bed. (Wi-fi was slow and spotty at almost every hotel we stayed at in Spain, so this was not a surprise or a headache for us.) The hotel has a discounted rate for parking at the Alhambra parking lot, so if you will be driving to Granada and need a place to park your car, this hotel is a great choice. Overall this hotel was a FANTASTIC value in a great location. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Granada was our favorite city we visited this trip, and we can’t wait to go back!

May/2013 Someone from California, USA thinks:

  • Overall rating: 8.6
  • Would you recommend it? Yes
  • Positive: Quietness of Room 402 with balcony overlooking part of Alhambra.
  • Negative: Poor contintental breakfast for 6 euros each.
  • I RECOMMEND it for... Older travelers, Couples, Travelers with a car

  • Cleanliness: 10 Everything was spotlessly clean.
  • Location: 10 Hotel is directly opposite Alhambra parking lot. Perfect. Restaurants next door, walk into town around walls of Alhambra and up to Albacain, may need taxi back - 7 euros. Very quiet and very safe area.
  • Common facilities and services: 5 Bar/sitting area comfortable.
  • Staff: 7.5 Reception staff and bar staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff not as friendly.
  • Quietness: 10 In our Room 402 at the end of a corridor and overlooking back of hotel, away from street noise but even that was quiet at night.
  • Room: 7.5 Very good size room, plenty of closet space, bathroom good size, shower in bathtub. Twin beds pushed together, mattress very firm, view of one outer tower of Alhambra and olive trees on quiet hill at back of hotel.
  • Value for money: 10 Excellent location, great price. Enabled us to go wandering around outer and inner walls of Alhambra at night when all floodlights were lit up - 5 mins walk - very safe area. Women walking on their own, even at 10pm. Alhambra a very special place. Unable to get discounted parking rate at Alhambra parking lots as no attendant available - put cash or card in slot to exit so no way to get discounted rate but that is not hotel's fault.
