• Lage: 7,5 Gran Hotel Velázquez is in a good location. About 5 blocks from the City Tour stop. They have on site parking and underground city parking adjacent.

• Ruhe: 7,5 Street noise was well worth the price of having a balcony overlooking Calle de Velázquez.

• Negativ: we were disappointed with the small lobby, plastic flowers and tiny elevator. A larger lobby area and a couple of live plants would improve first impressions of the hotel and the quality of the experience.

• Zimmer: 7,5 The shower cubicle door has a design fault. The bedside lamps could not be used as the bulbs had fused and had not been replaced.
• Preis-Leistungs: 5 As stated above, the lobby was a disappointment and the décor while elegant needed to be freshened, specially the bathroom and the communal areas. The corridors and stairway felt claustrophobic.

• Positiv: The location, the breakfast buffet - especially the fresh bread and pastry and fresh fruit. The terrace in the breakfast restaturant is amazing and all over the staff are very friendly staff.
• Negativ: The maintainance of the hotel is poor, lamps are loose, balcony door could not close. Haidriers are of very poor quality and often they do not work as expected. In some of the floors there are a terrible smell of mold.

• Positiv: Very-very good location and beautiful view from the window, as in the picture at the site (if you have the «room with view»). There is the aerobus stop near the hotel (about 200 meters), and it is very convenient for turist with a baggage (5 euro ticket). Very clear, comfortable beds. You can use FREE WIFI at 6 floor (you just need to get a parole in the restaurant during the brearfast). Nice and friendly staff, and I am sure, that is right for every hotel in Spain. I really love this country and Spanish people - the most freindly and wellcome people in the world!
• Negativ: In the most details – it is very simple 3* hotel, unfortunately. There is no any 4*-things in the room – no teapot, no cups, no glasses. And in all hotel no any boiling water for tea. The beds were really comfortable, but there are no blanket cover, just sheets. It is not easy-to-use. The shower – absolutly unconveniet. The water goes on the floor every time you have a shower, and water does not flow away properly to drain hole. The room is really quiet, if windows are closed. But without a conditioner there is very stuffy in the room, and with it - blow. And we saw the BIG BEATLE in the room. And killed it. But it was shock. The breakfast is very simple, mostly tasteless (except coffee, croissants, fish and very tasty orange juice) and absolutely the same every day and the fruits were not fresh enough, croissant sometimes - too. Two days from the five there were no butter, just margarine. Internet very expensive, but you can use FREE WIFI at 6 floor (look over - in pluses).
