• Negative: Charging a high price for a fruit dish at breakfast which was an orange and a kiwi out of the fridge without being prepared, or even having the supermarket label taken off.

• Positive: This hotel has tremendous character and we loved everything about it. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food delicious, it is spotlessly clean and of course, it is situated in the grounds of the Alhambra.

• Cleanliness: 10 Absolutely spotless. Bedding was changed every day. The hotel is full of carvings and there isn't a spot of dust to be seen.
• Location: 10 Situated in the grounds of the Alhambra the location is perfect.
• Common facilities and services: 10 We had everything we needed. Breakfast lunch and snacks re available throughout the day. Although dinner isn't available we were offered soup on arrival and there are a lot of restaurants close to the Alhambra that we could choose from. There is no television however we felt that this was in keeping with the nature of the hotel.
• Staff: 10 Wonderful - polite and helpful. They are knowledgeable about the area and will arrange bookings and transport for flamenco shows, taxis etc.
• Quietness: 10 Sometimes there is a low hum of conversation from the beautiful courtyard or from tourists passing by which is supplemented by birdsong from dawn to dusk. An absolute joy!
• Room: 10 We chose a smaller room as we didn't intend to spend much time in it other than to sleep, but it was comfortable. There are also single rooms available. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed. The view over Granada is spectacular.
• Value for money: 10 We couldn't believe how reasonable the cost was. We would have paid more and still been satisfied.

• Positive: I loved the genuine simplicity. Down to earth originality. Old fashioned furniture and fittings with adequate comfort. Help from the supremely talented Elizabeth with booking for a great Alhambra tour when Trip Advisor cancelled at short notice.So quaint, I visited 15 years ago, had a glass of Verdejo and said I will return and stay here....great idea.
