Situated in a quiet corner off a little square that rests by the Canal Grande in the heart of the city, you will find this authentic Venetian hotel. The house dates back to the early 18th century, which can be seen by the glass murrine hall floor and paintings that adorn the walls, including one by Canaletto. The building was made into a hotel in the 1960's and, since then, has been managed by the Salmaso family. Ala is a short walk from the Academy of Fine Arts, the Fenice theatre, Palazzo Grassi and Ca' Rezzonico. Each comfortable room offers modern facilities, decorated in a Venetian baroque style. Some rooms are provided with a Jacuzzi. Air conditioning is available only throughout summer.
