Centrally located, in the area called “Ribera del Marisco”, a leisure area par excellence and only 10 minutes from the beach. The building occupies the spot where formerly stood a women´s Prision, until its clousure and demolition in the 1970´s. The square itself is still known as “Prision Square” ( Plaza de la Cárcel ). In 1983, this old prision was pulled down to build “Los Cantaros Hotel”. Los Cantaros means earthenware and the Hotel takes its name from earthenware Jugs dating back to XVII century, found in the subsoil of the old prision; today, these jugs are displayed in the “Town Museum” and some are on display in the hotel reception. Quiet and familiar atmosphere, and a careful and personal service.
