• Location: 10 Overlooking the harbour, one minute's walk from the beach, 10 minutes to the cathedral, Barceloneta tube 5 mins.
• Common facilities and services: 7.5 Comfortable seating area in reception, fantastic roof terrace, small breakfast area, basic bar.
• Staff: 10 Really great. Especially Sergey and the lovely smiley lady on breakfast duty.
• Quietness: 5 Outside noise okay but as you'd expect from a city. Interior walls paper thin so some guest noise, again bearable.
• Room: 5 It was fine. Fridge, TV, comfortable bed, basic clothes storage. The bathroom glass wall is a bit unnerving. Not a lot of privacy and you hear everything!
• Value for money: 10 Considering the location, hotel quality, service, it was superb value.

• Positive: The staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an ideal location: 2 minutes from the beach; on the edge of the old Barceloneta (which I love) and opposite the marina, yet only a 10 minute walk along the marina front to the main facilities in Barcelona, the start of the Ramblas, the Gothic and Borne quarters. The breakfast was good.
• Negative: The noise levels from room to room and along the corridors were exaggerated because of the harsh, uncarpeted, modern style. Also the cleaners started very early outside my room. The dark bathrooms made you look tired and grey!! A brighter colour would have cheered you up each morning and made you feel younger: so new bright decor please!!
