    "We are very sorry you think our staff is rude, specially because you came with your 2 sons of 8 and 10 years old (without warning us when making the booking, bearing on mind, that in our website we explain we have no policy for children. These are the exact words "We don’t accept groups and limit the number of children". The only thing we told you when you checked-in was that the room you had booked was a double room for 2 people, therefore, you would need two extra beds for your sons and you would had to pay for it. If you think we were rude for this reason, you are completely wrong. We always do our best for our guests to make them enjoy the best experience in Barcelona and we will keep doing the same. Don't you think it is still more rude to travel with your children without letting know the hotel??"

  • Positive: really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Montecarlo, the hotel ticks all the right boxes - the location is great, right smack in the centre of Ramblas; great comfort in my single room, clean and well tidied everyday during my stay; the toilet is big considering for just one person; the hotel staff are all professional and efficient in handling checking in/out procedures; most importantly, the price is affordable considering the location of the location. For a tired single traveller, it was a pleasure returning to the room every day of the trip to rest, before getting ready for the next exciting day.
  • Negative: However, just a couple of negative points - though the single room had a window, it was merely facing a wall, and thus it was regrettable that i was unable to soak in the views of the mesmerising barcelona in the comfort of the hotel room, the window was then closed most of the time; in my opinion, the staff, though professional and thoroughly capable, lacked a warm touch that is so representative of barcelona, an exciting and vibrant city.

  • Negative: The man at the front desk was rude and arrogrant.Our son stopped by in the morning after 7am. to meet us to travel to the airport together. I was in the lobby and the man at the reception acted like I was bringing in a homeless guy. He was disrespectful and acted like a jerk.

    "The security of our guests is very important for us. What would you think if you saw a boy with a bag, not staying in the hotel, taking the lift to go up to we do not know where at 07.00?? When you checked-in, we read you the policy of the hotel referring visits to the rooms, which are not allowed to people not registered in the hotel. If you had warned us that your son was going to come to the hotel to meet you we had allowed him to go up to your room."

  • Positive: The quiet in the midst of the Las Ramblas...packed with people at all hours. Very courteous staff...greeted each morning with "And did you sleep well?" We had a 2nd floor room, facing Las Ramblas and didn't hear the hubbub below.
